本課程旨在幫助學生強化英文文法的能力，並進而改善學生的寫作能力。藉由教科書的設計，學生在老師的指導下，可學習或複習英文文法的重要句型。課程內容包括：（1）動詞時態總整理：現在簡單式、過去簡單式、現在進行式、過去進行式、現在完成式、過去完成式、現在完成進行式、過去完成進行式（2）未來式、未來進行式、未來完成進行式（3）否定句式、附加問句、附和句式及其回應句式 。
“English Grammar and Writing(1) is a basic grammar course taken in first year, aims at consolidating freshmen’s basic command of English grammar and then improving their writing ability. Based on the design of the chosen text book, the students will learn, or review the important forms and function of English grammar. It would be helpful to ESL students to learn English grammar. Students are expected to be able to read more smoothly and write correct sentences with English grammar in mind after they have completed the course.
