The goal of this course is to prepare students for using English when they graduate from college and enter the workplace. By learning workplace English, students will develop a firm foundation of four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing to help them communicate and function in a wide range of business situations. In this class, students will learn:
1. How to make telephone calls, give presentations, and participate in meetings in workplace.
2. How to talk with business contacts, and negotiate agreements.
3. To be familiar with a specific workplace domain based on authentic materials.
4. To organize both content and language knowledge.
5. To write business documents, such as resume, English email, and business letters.
