The objective of this course is to promote students’ effective communication in English, specifically with an emphasis on Taiwan’s culture and related issues.
The course content covers anything about Taiwan, from telling someone about Taiwan, the people of Taiwan, Taiwan’s famous singer - Wu-Bai to Taiwan’s history, the story of Chang-Er (嫦娥), Taiwan’s restaurants and night market culture, etc. The materials in the book are to reflect authentic spoken English, and there are ample activities to help develop the learners’ communication abilities, along with their strategy use.
