本課程主要目的是幫助學生發展英文寫作技巧和句型結構的知識，包括介紹，主體段落的內容以及結論。寫作過程將著重於基本句型結構，從段落到論文的轉換過程以及語法和詞彙的項目。另外將介紹不同類型的文章-敘述，分類，比較和因果關係。一篇出色的論文內容，除了正確句型結構之外，亦包括與寫作相關聯的閱讀和有效地使用語言以及結合更多的閱讀和寫作知識。
The purpose of this course is to help students develop the knowledge of writing essay skills and sentence structure, including the introduction of an essay - hook and thesis statement, body of paragraphs, and conclusion. Writing process will be focused on basic sentence construction, transitions from paragraphs to essays, and grammatical and lexical items. The different kinds of essays - narrative, classification, comparison and cause-effect will also be introduced. The elements of a good essay including inextricable reading-writing related knowledge will additionally be included in this great writing course.
At the end of fall semester, students are expected to:
1. Integrated reading, writing, and thinking together.
2. Find ideas interesting and connect them to their background knowledge and experiences.
3. Guide students to write with greater depth and complexity on academic topics in the context of the essay.
4. Develop fluency in writing and grammatical accuracy in the end.
